As a radical multi-disciplinary artist, Murray delves into the profound realms of human connection and identity with a keen focus on empowerment and education. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of materials and rooted in intersectional feminism, their work serves as a powerful platform to amplify marginalised voices and celebrate the rich tapestry of diverse identities. Through intricate layering and skilful techniques, they challenge societal norms and defy gender stereotypes, creating works that intricately reflect the complexities of human identity.
Murray's multimedia sculptures and provocative works explore the interplay and relationships between male and female sexual anatomy. Soft sculptures and wearable artworks emphasise the importance of using accurate anatomical terminology, countering misleading slang and euphemisms that can enable misconceptions and make discussing sexual health more difficult.
By utilising a wide range of materials and approaches, Murray creates thought-provoking pieces that not only challenge perceptions but also foster a deeper understanding of the human experience. Their art becomes a conduit for meaningful conversations about gender, sexuality, and the body, inviting viewers to confront their own biases and preconceived notions. Through her work, Murray strives to create an inclusive space where all identities are honoured and where the language surrounding sexual health becomes a tool for liberation rather than oppression.
